The first Penny's Pastries was located just outside Washington DC in Reston, Virginia. You could stop by the bakery at any time to pick-up a cinnamon roll, slice of pie or loaf of bread. I was young then and didn't know my natural calling was to concentrate on cookies and brownies. But as I continued to shove the other products aside to make room for an ever-increasing line of luscious cookies, shortbread and gourmet brownies I had that "light bulb" moment that has defined my cookie and brownie destiny.

So to all you brownie lovers out there know that these brownie mixes come with a long tradition of lovingly baking brownies late into the night and eating just as many the next morning.
